Open Streets Boston is a collection of free, family-friendly events. During these events, the City will close major thoroughfares to motor traffic, opening them for pedestrian use including:

  • walking, 

  • rolling, 

  • biking,

  • and connecting with neighbors and local businesses.

Open Streets Boston events help people experience streets as public spaces where communities thrive. City streets transform into vibrant, pedestrian friendly boulevards where people can dream, play, and explore.

Notice of Street Closure - Sunday, July 10, 2022
7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Centre Street will be closed to car traffic for the City of Boston’s Open Streets Event on

Sunday, July 10 from 7AM to 3PM. The route will run between Jackson Square (Lamartine Street) and Centre/South (Soldier’s Monument).

 

No vehicles are allowed on the route from 7AM to 3PM on Sunday, July 10. There are crossing points at Green/Myrtle Street and Boylston/Moraine Street where vehicles can cross Centre St. but not turn onto it.

 

No parking will be allowed on the route ALL DAY on Sunday, July 10. Parking restrictions will be enforced and vehicles will be towed starting at 1:00AM.

​Public parking is available at Roxbury Community College.
